Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Support

Minor Release Support Guidelines

ThreatQuotient will validate support for running ThreatQ on those Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 minor releases that have associated Extended Update Support (EUS) available. Per the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Life Cycle, these are the even numbered releases shown in the RHEL 9 planning guide highlighted in light blue to reflect a EUS that extends for at least twenty-four months from the general availability (GA) of each release.

RHEL 9 Planned Releases

The following chart lists Red Hat's planned minor releases for RHEL 9 as well as the support levels for each release. The even numbered releases outlined in red will be evaluated and considered for ThreatQ support.

Pin Your RHEL 9 Version

The following steps allow you to pin your current RHEL 9 release so that you cannot inadvertently upgrade your RHEL 9 environment to an unsupported release.

Run the following commands as root or prefix them with sudo.

  1. Set release to minor version:
  2. subscription-manager release --set=<release number>
  3. Clean repositories:
  4. yum clean all
  5. Check which release is set locally:
  6. subscription-manager release --show

Version Support Updates

ThreatQuotient will begin validation of the release when it is made available by Red Hat. Depending on changes made to the OS by Red Hat, the validation process may require approximately one to two ThreatQuotient sprints (~ three week cycle) to complete our validation process. After ThreatQuotient completes validation of ThreatQ on a RHEL 9 release, we will notify customers via the ThreatQ release notes that the version is now supported.
